About the conference

What is the Early Learning and Child Care conference?

The Government of Yukon is hosting a gathering on September 9 and 10, 2024, to provide opportunities for those working in early learning to come together and learn from each other.

The conference is part of our commitment to support high-quality early learning and child care that is affordable, accessible, and inclusive.

We acknowledge that this year's conference is funded inpart by the Government of Canada.

What is this year’s theme?

This year’s theme is Learn, Explore, and Grow Together.

The conference will provide educators with opportunities to learn about current research in early learning and child care, explore topics of interest, grow practical skills, and connect with others in the profession.

Why should you attend?

Join us on September 9 and 10, 2024, for this year’s conference where we will focus on each other’s knowledge, strengths, and ideas to Learn, Explore and Grow Together. A variety of workshops will be offered.

The conference provides an opportunity to:

  • exchange information and ideas on responsive care, learning through play, and outdoor learning and more;
  • integrate First Nations ways of knowing, doing and being;
  • network, connect and build community;
  • meet professionals in the fields of early learning and child care;
  • learn about new trends, practices and studies; and
  • gain practical skills through hands-on workshops.

Call for workshop proposals

We welcome workshop proposals from organizations and individuals who have expertise in the field of early learning and child care. Submit proposals by Monday, July 15, 2024, 4:30 pm (local time). Email proposals to earlylearning@yukon.ca 

Workshops are in 90-minute slots and can be theoretical or hands-on.

Registration

Registration is now open

  • Online registration will remain open throughout the conference.
  • In-person registration will close on August 30, 2024, at midnight.

Note that the in-person registration limit has been set at 300 attendees.

Choosing to participate virtually will allow you to view some content. Hybrid workshops will be marked with a livestream symbol on the agenda.
