Learn about hiring an immigration representative

An immigration representative can help explain immigration programs and processes. They can help:

• Employers:
  • with filling out and submitting their Yukon Nominee Program application; and
  • communicating with us on their behalf.
• Foreign nationals:
  • with the Yukon Nominee Program process by communicating with the employer or their representative.
• Foreign entrepreneurs:
  • with filling out and submitting their Yukon Business Nominee Program application; and
  • communicating with us on their behalf.

Do I need to hire someone?

No, you do not need to hire an immigration representative or consultant to apply to our immigration programs. This includes:

• an employer who is applying to the Yukon Nominee Program;
• a foreign national whose employer is applying to the Yukon Nominee Program; and
• a foreign entrepreneur who is applying to the Yukon Business Nominee Program.

Before you decide

It is your choice to hire a representative or apply on your own.

Consider the following:

• We treat all applications the same, whether they are submitted by an individual or a representative.
• No one can guarantee that your application will be approved.
• We do not charge a fee to apply.
• We do not exclusively hire any agencies or representatives.

Do your research before committing.

• Find out how to use a representative.
• Check if your representative is authorized. Paid representatives must be a member of:
  • the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants; or
  • a lawyer or notary who is a member of:
    • a Canadian provincial or territorial law society; or
    • the Chambre des notaires du Québec.

If you choose to hire someone

You and your representative must follow the rules listed below or we will decline your application.

• You must declare that you hired a representative on your application.
• Before we can talk to a representative on your behalf, you must complete and submit a:
  • Consent to disclosure of personal information form; and
  • Use of a representative form.
• You must have full access to the email address listed on your application.
• Your representative must include you on all correspondence to us.
• We have the right to contact you directly about your application.
