2022 fall sitting of Yukon Legislative Assembly to begin

The 2022 fall sitting of the Yukon Legislative Assembly will begin at 1 pm on Thursday, October 6.

Several new Bills will be tabled for debate, including:

  • a supplementary budget Bill along with a Interim Fiscal and Economic Update for the 2022–23 fiscal year;
  • a Clean Energy Bill, a commitment under Our Clean Future that would legislate the government’s greenhouse gas commitments, provide the regulatory tools needed to meet these commitments and ensure long-term climate change accountability through public reporting; and
  • a new Animal Protection and Control Bill that would increase enforcement and standards of care, improving safety for Yukoners and animals.

The public gallery of the Legislative Assembly will be open with seating available on a first come first serve basis.

Live coverage of the proceedings will be available at yukonassembly.ca/house-business/coverage-proceedings and will be broadcasted on 93.5 FM.

My colleagues and I look forward to returning to the Legislative Assembly after a very busy summer. We remain focused on making life more affordable for Yukoners and moving the territory forward by increasing housing options, improving our healthcare system, tackling climate change and building resilient infrastructure throughout the territory.

Premier Sandy Silver
