The Government of Yukon releases a new edition of the Pathways magazine

The Government of Yukon has released the second edition of the Pathways magazine, which shares stories of collaboration, partnership and reconciliation.

This issue reflects on collaborative work with First Nations governments and organizations to implement the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.

The magazine features stories on the work of the Yukon Residential Schools and Missing Children Project, the evolution of the Yukon’s education system, child welfare, justice, sport and recreation and much more.

The Government of Yukon has also released an accompanying report that provides further information about actions being taken to address the Calls to Action that were directed at the Government of Yukon and covers topic areas including child welfare, health, education and justice.

Reconciliation is an ongoing journey. For the Government of Yukon, Pathways magazine and our efforts to implement the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action are opportunities to reflect on the path travelled to date. It’s so important that we, as a society, learn from our past, so we can continue to address the harms of our painful history of colonization. While there is more work to be done, our efforts are resulting in meaningful change and creating better programs and services for all Yukoners.
