Government of Yukon welcomes Team Yukon 55+ home

The Government of Yukon welcomes Team Yukon back from the 2024 Canada 55+ Games held in Quebec City. A record 162 participants and supporters attended the Games from August 27 through August 30.

The Government of Yukon is proud to have supported this year’s Canada 55+ Games with a $75,000 grant to ElderActive Recreation Association. Team Yukon took home an impressive 58 medals while competing in 12 events, plus the five-kilometer and 10-kilometre bonus events.

Major events like the Canada 55+ Games provide Yukoners the opportunity to compete at the national level and inspire communities to stay active. The next Canada 55+ Games will be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

  • The Canada 55+ Games brings together more than 2,500 participants from across the country every two years to compete at the national level in a variety of athletic, recreational and social events.

  • The ElderActive Recreation Association leads the organization of Team Yukon with the assistance of the organizing committee and funding and support from the Government of Yukon.

  • The Government of Yukon provided $75,000 to support Team Yukon’s participation at these Games.
