Lottery and tender open for lots in Yukon communities

As part of its commitment to make housing more accessible and more affordable in the territory, the Government of Yukon has launched multiple lottery and tender processes for land in numerous Yukon communities.

Twenty-five residential lots are being released today by public lottery in Carmacks, Dawson City, Destruction Bay, Faro, Haines Junction, Mayo and Watson Lake. This lot release builds on the Yukon government’s commitment to making more land available to Yukoners.

One industrial lot in Dawson City and two industrial lots in Ross River are available via tender.

Applications and bids will be accepted until 4:30 pm (YT) on May 24, 2023. The draw and bid opening will take place on May 30, 2023.

This lottery addresses the ongoing and increasing demand for housing across the Yukon. The Government of Yukon plans to develop more land parcels and lots in Yukon communities in the years to come. It is anticipated that another lottery will take place for lots in Whitehorse later in 2023.

This lottery is another way that our government is working to meet the housing demands in many of Yukon’s communities. We will continue to provide opportunities for Yukoners by meeting the ongoing demand for land across the Yukon.

Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources John Streicker

Our government is committed to advancing land development in communities across the territory. Working with these communities enables us to bolster their official community plans and create a variety of lots that help meet the demand in the short- and medium-term while also planning for long-term growth.

Minister of Community Services Richard Mostyn
