The Government of Yukon is releasing 20 country residential lots in the Grizzly Valley, Golden Horn and Mendenhall subdivisions near Whitehorse today.

Of the 20 country residential lots being released by public lottery today, 16 are in the Grizzly Valley subdivision, two lots are in the Mendenhall Subdivision and two lots are in the Golden Horn Subdivision. The lots range in size between 3.08 hectares to 9.48 hectares.

Lottery applications will be accepted at the Application Office at the Land Management Branch in Whitehorse until August 6, 2024, at 4:30 pm. The lottery draw will take place on August 13, 2024.

This latest release of lots continues the Government of Yukon’s efforts to increase land and housing availability to support healthy and vibrant communities. To support this initiative, the Government of Yukon is investing $20 to 25 million annually to develop lots in the Yukon, over the next five years, helping ensure a variety of lot types are available for the public to purchase and develop.

These country residential lots present an exciting opportunity for Yukoners who want to build homes in rural subdivisions near Whitehorse. We are committed to making land available and investing in this initiative over the next five years to meet the increasing housing demands across the territory.

Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources John Streicker

These lots are where Yukoners will build their homes, create their communities and grow their families. Delivering these lots reflects years of planning, research and construction, and we are proud of our role in providing 20 more lots for rural Yukon. I look forward to seeing this initiative help meet the growing need of our growing territory.

Minister of Community Services Richard Mostyn

I’m pleased that our government is continuing to create opportunities for new housing options across the territory. I look forward to seeing Yukoners turn these empty lots turn into places that they can call home.
