The Commissioner of Yukon Angélique Bernard, in her capacity as Chancellor of the Order of Yukon, is honoured to announce the 2022 inductees to the Order of Yukon.
These names were chosen among the numerous nominations submitted to the Advisory Council.
The following 2022 inductees demonstrated excellence and achievement and their outstanding contributions to the social, arts, cultural or economic well-being of Yukon and its residents:
- Danny Joe, for his advocacy for the advancement of Yukon First Nations, culture, and language. Danny is a visionary and a leader; his contributions have made positive change in Yukon and will continue to do so.
- Jeanne Beaudoin has devoted more than half of her life to advancing Yukon Francophonie issues in Yukon. Her involvement and leadership have enabled Francophones to maintain their language and culture in Yukon and to actively contribute to the development of Yukon society.
- Murray Lundberg is a tireless advocate for Yukon history and Yukoners. Over the past 40 years, he has pursued this advocacy through photography, writing, tourism marketing, research, volunteering, exploring, digital projects and dementia health outreach.
On behalf of all Yukoners, I congratulate Danny Joe, Jeanne Beaudoin and Murray Lundberg on their induction to the Order of Yukon. Their tireless work, exceptional contributions and countless hours of volunteerism have shaped the Yukon of today. Thank you to the Advisory Council members for their work in selecting the inductees.
Congratulations to these three highly deserving inductees for 2022. Through their tireless and selfless dedication to our community, each of them has created a legacy from which the Yukon will benefit for generations to come. We celebrate their achievements and thank them for their contributions.
