Canada’s Premiers will be joining Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for a First Ministers’ meeting in Ottawa on February 7, 2023. The discussion will focus on building strong health care systems across the country.
Premier Pillai is committed to working with the federal government and his fellow Premiers to secure a significant, long-term increase in federal health care funding to support the health and wellbeing of Yukoners and all Canadians. It is important that First Ministers work together to put health care on a sustainable path to address each jurisdiction’s unique circumstances.
I look forward to working with my counterparts across the country to address the major pressures facing the Yukon’s health care system. Our government is transforming the Yukon’s health and social services system into a national leader when it comes to collaborative, person-centred care as we continue to implement the Putting People First recommendations. We need to make sure Yukoners continue to receive the top-quality health care services they deserve.
