Statement from Premier Pillai on Canadian Armed Forces Day

Premier Ranj Pillai has issued the following statement:

“On Canadian Armed Forces Day, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many members and veterans of the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy, and Royal Canadian Air Force who protect and defend Canadian security and values at home and around the world.  

“Canadian Armed Forces members represent the very best of our country. We are grateful for their unwavering commitment to putting the safety and security of Canadians first, and the sacrifices that they and their families make each and every day. Here in Canada and abroad, Canadian Armed Forces members serve with dedication and honour. We owe them a debt of gratitude for their service.

“The Yukon Detachment of Joint Task Force North and the local members of the 1st Canadian Ranger Patrol Group remain an active and engaged presence across the territory. Canadian Armed Forces members in the Yukon can be seen year-round assisting with local emergencies, coordinating training activities and being present and visible in communities and at official events. We are grateful for their dedication and hard work that helps keep the Yukon safe and secure.

“We remain committed to supporting our veterans, active-duty service members and their families. On this day, we honour their contributions to a protected Canada and a more peaceful world. Thank you.”
