Statement from Premier Pillai on the coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen

Premier Ranj Pillai released the following statement: 

“On behalf of the people of the Yukon, I extend congratulations to His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla on their coronation.

“This historic moment marks a new chapter in the life of the monarchy and we wish them success as they undertake their duties and responsibilities. 

“We look forward to witnessing the accomplishments that will come during His Majesty’s time on the throne, including work on The King’s commitment to reconciliation and continuing to improve the relationship with Indigenous peoples. We were pleased to see His Majesty met with Indigenous leaders from Canada earlier this week, which the leaders described as ‘sincerely meaningful.’ 

“May His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen reign be one of peace, progress and prosperity for all the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.”
