Statement from Premier Pillai on Eid al-Adha

Premier Ranj Pillai has issued the following statement:

“Today marks the beginning of one of the most important festivals in the Muslim calendar, Eid al-Adha. On this special day, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt wishes to the Muslim community here in the Yukon and beyond.

“The spirit of Eid al-Adha teaches us the importance of sacrifice, generosity and caring for those less fortunate. It reminds us to extend a helping hand to those in need, no matter their background or faith. May we remember those who are facing challenges or hardships and strive to make a positive difference in their lives.

“To all those observing Eid al-Adha, I wish you a joyful celebration filled with the warmth of family and the company of loved ones. Eid Mubarak!”
