Statement from Premier Pillai on Holy Week

Premier Ranj Pillai has released the following statement:

“On April 2, many Christians here in the Yukon and around the world mark Palm Sunday and the commencement of Holy Week. Holy Week comprises five days of special significance to Christians as they recall the events leading up to Easter.  

“In many Christian churches, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday are observed in commemoration of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. 

“Holy Week and the Easter Triduum mark the pinnacle of the Christian faith. It is a beautiful observance of hope and renewal for those who celebrate. I hope all those who have been observing Lent and who embark on this solemn journey towards Easter find joy and hope in this experience.”
