Premier Ranj Pillai has issued the following statement:
“Labour Day is an opportunity to celebrate the incredible commitment and hard work of the Yukon’s entire workforce. From Whitehorse to rural communities, each worker plays a vital role in keeping our territory moving forward.
“Our diverse economy is sustained by the commitment of individuals across different sectors, whether it’s in health care, education, mining, small businesses and beyond. Every job contributes to our shared prosperity and the unique ways in which work manifests in our communities truly reflects the spirit of collaboration and resilience that defines the Yukon.
“Across the territory, our unemployment rate remains low, which is a testament to the strength and adaptability of Yukon workers. Our government will continue to put workers first and support a sustainable economic future to better serve all Yukoners.
“This Labour Day, I encourage Yukoners to celebrate the workers who add so much to our territory. I hope Yukoners find time to relax, disconnect and recharge in a meaningful way.
“On behalf of the Government of Yukon, I want thank the workers – and retirees – for everything they’ve done to build communities that we’re proud to call home.”
