Statement from Premier Pillai on Manitoba’s election

Premier Ranj Pillai has issued the following statement:

“On behalf of the Government of Yukon, I would like to congratulate Manitoba Premier-designate Wab Kinew on his success in yesterday’s provincial election. Our governments have a longstanding history of cooperation and I look forward to continuing our strong partnership for the benefit of all Yukoners and Manitobans.

“I would also like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to Heather Stefanson, who has been a strong voice for Manitobans at the Council of the Federation table during her time as Premier. I thank her for her dedication and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

“Choosing to put your name on the ballot is a complicated personal decision that involves support from friends and family and is a vital and commendable part of our democratic process. Thank you to all Manitobans who chose to run for office during this election.”
