Statement by Premier Ranj Pillai on the appointment of a new Administrator of the Yukon

Premier Ranj Pillai has issued the following statement:

“As Premier of the Yukon, it is a great pleasure to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Donald J. Inverarity on his appointment as the new Administrator of the Yukon.

“The Administrator of the Yukon executes the office and functions of the Commissioner during their absence or at times when the office of the Commissioner is vacant. The Administrator is appointed by Her Excellency, the Governor General, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, for a term of three years under subsection 5(1) and section 7 of the Yukon Act.

“Donald has a distinguished career in public service, business, volunteerism and promoting digital literacy. Through his commitment to serving our territory, Donald brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this important role. On behalf of all Yukoners, I offer my best wishes to Donald for success in this new position.”
