Statement from Premier Ranj Pillai on the Liard First Nation election

Premier Ranj Pillai has issued the following statement:

“On behalf of the Government of Yukon, I am pleased to congratulate Stephen Charlie on his re-election as Chief of the Liard First Nation.  

“Chief Charlie has consistently been a strong advocate for his community, making significant progress advancing the interests of the Liard First Nation throughout his initial term.

“I would also like to extend my congratulations to the newly-elected Deputy Chief Harlan Schilling and councillors who will be confirmed in the coming days. 

“To all those who put their names forward in this election, I commend your commitment and dedication to serving your community. 

“I look forward to working with Chief Charlie, Deputy Chief Schilling and the Councils of Liard First Nation and Daylu Dena Council to further strengthen our partnership and collaboration on issues that matter to the Liard First Nation and to all Yukoners.”
