Keno Solid Waste Facility

Keno transfer station is closed.  

We have provided bear-resistant carts for household waste. 

Hecla Mining Company will provide door-to-door pickup starting December 8, 2022. Waste will be picked up every Thursday unless a schedule change is necessary. It is important your carts are placed out front of your house in the morning or the evening before. Carts that are picked up will be returned empty by the end of the day.

Carts are labelled with detailed instructions on how to operate the locking mechanism. Residents are responsible to ensure cart lids are closed and carts are properly used and maintained.

Hazardous waste (batteries, waste oil, automotive products, florescent lights, empty propane canisters) should not be placed into household waste. We will provide disposal instructions for these items in the near future.
