Purpose of the trip
From June 10 to 11, Premier Pillai attended the Eurasia Group’s US-Canada Summit alongside Premier Moe, Alaska Governor Dunleavy, and Canadian and American political and business leaders. This event focused on topics related to the geopolitical relationship between Canada and the United States. In addition to the event’s plenary, Premier Pillai participated in an invite-only Canada-US breakfast with American and Canadian political leaders, and an energy roundtable with select participants. This event aligns with the Premier’s mandate letter commitments as Premier and Minister of Economic Development. From June 17 to 20, Premier Pillai attended the 2024 Collision Conference in Toronto to support the Yukon’s startup community and to engage with leaders in innovation and entrepreneurship from across Canada. This aligns with the Government of Yukon’s goal to support Yukon startups attract investment as outlined in “Innovation Yukon: Bringing Northern Ingenuity to the World”.
