Purpose of the trip: Premier Pillai attended the Northern Premier's Forum this year in Inuvik, NWT to foster stronger interprovincial relationships among Northern leaders, including Premier of the Northwest Territories Caroline Cochrane and Premier of Nunavut P.J. Akeeagok as well as First Nation chiefs. Additionally, Premier Pillai discussed and strategized on issues pertaining to regional development, infrastructure, resource management and environmental resilience. The forum provided an opportunity for Premier Pillai to collaborate with his counterparts from other Northern territories, exchange best practices and collectively address shared challenges. Furthermore, his presence at the event showcases his commitment to promoting the interests and prosperity of the Yukon on a broader regional scale.
