Get testing and treatment for an infectious disease

Yukon Communicable Disease Control works in collaboration with the:

  • Chief Medical Officer of Health; and
  • the Public Health Agency of Canada.

We're responsible for preventing, monitoring and controlling all infectious diseases in Yukon. This includes infectious diseases, such as:

  • measles;
  • pertussis (whooping cough);
  • hepatitis;
  • chlamydia;
  • giardiasis; and
  • tuberculosis (TB).

Infectious disease reporting

Some diseases, such as anthrax, botulism and diphtheria, must be reported to Yukon Communicable Disease Control and the Chief Medical Officer of Health as soon as possible. See the full list here.

Get testing and treatment

You can contact us for matters related to infectious diseases. This includes:

  • HIV testing and treatment;
  • emergency birth control;
  • needle stick injuries;
  • hepatitis C testing and treatment; and
  • sexually transmitted infections (STI):
    • assessment;
    • counselling;
    • testing; and
    • treatment.

You can make an appointment or drop in for an appointment. All testing is confidential.

Note that drop-in times may not be available if staffing shortages occur. Making an appointment is the best way to arrange testing.
