Find out how to get a Yukon Apprenticeship Award of Excellence

Since 1994, the Government of Yukon has recognized excellence in the trades by awarding apprentices who receive a high grade on their level or interprovincial exam with an award of excellence.

Eligibility

To be eligible to receive a Yukon Apprenticeship Award of Excellence, you must:

  • be registered as an apprentice in the Yukon; and
  • have achieved an 85% or higher final mark on your Yukon or interprovincial apprenticeship level exam.

Receiving an award of excellence

If you are eligible to receive a Yukon Apprenticeship Award of Excellence, we’ll send you an invitation to attend the annual Yukon Apprenticeship Awards of Excellence ceremony along with a guest and your employer.

At the ceremony, awardees receive a framed certificate of excellence. Newly certified journeypersons are also invited to attend and are recognized for their achievement in completing their apprenticeship.

If you are unable to attend the ceremony we will mail your award certificate to the address we have on file.

Giving an industry award of excellence

We invite industry partners to recognize apprenticeship excellence in one or more trades at the annual Yukon Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony. You can provide the award once or on an ongoing basis.

Get in touch with our office if you or your organization are interested in recognizing excellence in apprenticeship in this way.
