The Government of Yukon begins construction of 44 lot residential subdivision in Haines Junction

The Government of Yukon has awarded Castle Rock Enterprises the contract for construction of a 44-lot serviced residential subdivision in Haines Junction. The project is part of the Government of Yukon’s ambitious land and housing development agenda. Once complete, the subdivision will include 44 serviced residential lots surrounding a central park with over a kilometre of connected trails.

The new neighbourhood will face the Saint Elias mountains, offering scenic views and creating opportunities for green-energy production. The development aims to create a walkable environment with mixed residential lots to support population growth and sustainability of Haines Junction.

Work begins March 12, 2024, with completion expected in July 2025. Residents can expect clearing and heavy equipment moving debris and gravel at times during construction.

Surrounded by natural splendour and incredible views of the majestic mountain range, Haines Junction remains an attractive location to live and work. Today’s announcement will support the future expansion of this village, contribute to a vibrant community and help more Yukoners create home once the residential subdivision has been developed.

Premier and Minister responsible for Yukon Housing Corporation Ranj Pillai

We are excited to be delivering new lots and housing to Yukoners. This walkable neighbourhood will encourage active transportation and healthy lifestyles and be an incredible place for Yukoners to settle down. We are so pleased to be helping the municipality of Haines Junction grow and make room for new neighbours.

Minister of Community Services Richard Mostyn

The Village of Haines Junction Council is happy to announce the launch of the newest subdivision expansion within the community. This development is set to introduce a significant number of new serviced lots to the market, facilitating the community's growth in a deliberate and sustainable manner. The project represents the culmination of several years of collaborative effort between the Council and the Yukon Land Development Branch. We are excited to see the project start in the upcoming days.
