Investing in community partnerships is a central part of our government’s strategy to incentivize more affordable housing development across the territory. With this most recent intake of the Housing Initiatives Fund, I am pleased to see another strong cohort of projects and partners coming forward, demonstrating a shared commitment to building new affordable homes in Yukon communities. I thank all First Nations governments, First Nations development corporations, private developers, contractors, community organizations, entrepreneurs and the public whose contributions are helping meet the Yukon’s growing demand for affordable housing.
