Statement from Minister of Community Services Richard Mostyn on Team Yukon selections

Minister of Community Services Richard Mostyn has issued the following statement:

“In 45 days, the Yukon will send 355 athletes, cultural performers, coaches and support personnel to the 2024 Arctic Winter Games in the Mat-Su Valley, Alaska.

“Since October, the territory’s athletes have been competing for a chance to represent Team Yukon at the circumpolar north’s largest multi-sport event and, now, rosters are finalized for the Games.

“Making Team Yukon is a tremendous accomplishment. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication shown by the athletes and coaches. But the work continues as they ready for the Games.

“The time spent practising and honing their skills with teammates and coaches will prepare them for their competitions. I, like all Yukoners, cannot wait to see what our athletes are capable of.

“The Yukon is behind our participants 100 per cent and we know they will make great ambassadors for our territory.

“Congratulations to the athletes, cultural performers, coaches and support staff. Yu-kon do it!”
