Today, the online student financial assistance portal opened for applications for the 2024–25 academic year.
Students must apply each year to receive financial assistance for their studies. Funding programs include the:
- Yukon Grant;
- Student Training Allowance;
- Yukon Excellence Award; and
- Canada Student Financial Assistance programs for full-time and part-time studies.
Within the online portal, eligible students can apply for the funding programs that work best for their needs and circumstances. Students are encouraged to apply early as applications are processed in the order they are received.
Students must submit their program information each semester to receive funding. The Department of Education requests that students have their program information form filled out by their academic institution before submitting their completed application.
-
An academic year begins on August 1 of the current calendar year and ends on July 31 of the following calendar year.
-
Program funding application deadlines vary. Applying early means students can focus on their studies when they begin.
-
Students may be eligible for more than one of the funding programs listed. They can maximize the funding they apply for by learning more about each program.
-
Paper applications remain an available option. The online portal provides students with the most efficient way to apply and monitor the progress of their funding applications.
