Get the latest information on the Dempster Fibre Line project

The Dempster Fibre Line project is a 778-kilometre fibre optic line that follows the Dempster Highway from Dawson, Yukon, to Inuvik, Northwest Territories, in Canada.

The line will connect the Government of Northwest Territories’ existing Mackenzie Valley Fibre Link in Inuvik to Northwestel’s fibre network in Dawson.

Together, these 2 projects will provide:

  • a backup line in the event of a service disruption; and
  • more reliable internet and cellphone services.
