- 1 residential lot in Haines Junction; and
- 1 country residential lot in Watson Lake.
The deadline to enter the lottery is Friday, October 4 at 4:30 pm.

Enter the lottery
Deadline to apply
You must submit your application by Friday, October 4, 2024, at 4:30 pm.
Prepare your application
- Download and complete the lottery application form.
- Include the required payments:
- A non-refundable application fee of $26.25 ($25 plus GST) payable by cheque, cash, debit card or credit card.and
- A $300 deposit payable only bycash or cheque.
To apply for the Watson Lake lot you will be required to provide proof that you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and have been a Yukon resident for the past year.
Submit your application
You can submit your application at the Land Management Branch, located in room 320 of the Elijah Smith Building, 300 Main Street, Whitehorse, Yukon. The branch is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. To submit your application by mail, refer to information in the lottery package.
You can also submit your application at one of our district offices.
When is the draw?
We’ll draw for the lottery on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. We’ll livestream the draw online for public viewing. Check back for details closer to the draw date.
If you’re selected for a lot
Once we notify you of your success in the lottery, you’ll have 24 hours to accept the lot offered to you. If you do not accept the lot, you forfeit the lot and your $300 deposit.
If you accept the lot, you have 14 days from when we notify you to:
- pay the required minimum down payment; and
- enter into an agreement for sale with us.

Requirements for title
If you enter into an agreement for sale with us, you must meet the requirements of your contract to get title to the lot. The requirements are:
- meeting the building commitment:
- 3 years in Mayo and Watson lake;
- 5 years in Haines Junction; and
- paying for the lot in full.
Pick up your deposit
You, or a representative you name, can pick up your $300 deposit between October 23, 2024, and November 6, 2024.
You must delegate a representative when you submit your application form. To pick up your deposit, you or your representative must:
- present government-issued photo identification; and
- sign for the deposit.
